L'ep FAK2010 e' andato piu' che bene, la self-promotion ha dato risposte positive piu' a Londra che a Modica in sud Italia, dove risulta difficile e assai banale sposare una rock-attitude con le prospettive di post-fader, non c'e' mercato, non puoi pensarla diversamente. Essere figlio del tuo tempo in Sicilia ti porta indietro nel tempo.

Esistono pochi canali, la maggior parte di auto-etichettamento, auto fanzine, auto-celebrazione, esistono oggregazioni antisfondamento, la macchina del fango musicale la chiama "Saro st". BASTA!!! noi vogliamo solo suonare, crediamo nelle nostre potenzialita'. C'e' molto da lavorare, e tanto da dire. La line-up e' piu' compatta di prima. E se decidessimo di non suonare piu' in Italia capirete che abbiamo i nostri buoni motivi. Adesso dopo 3 anni non abbiamo nessun vincolo con la rock free booking. Siamo liberi e disponibili per qualcosa di piu' grande.

Oggi 12 maggio 2011, i FAK sono a Lavoro per il loro primo Album da registrare dopo l'estate. L'album conterra' non meno di 10 tracce ma di sicuro meno di 20.

SAro st dice:"La rock free booking e' stata creata nel 2008 sotto l'associazione culturale ASPEC in italia ha collaborato con tanti artisti, promoter, festival. Adesso io mi trovo a Londra, dove questa realta' e' vissuta in maniera diversa rispetto all'italia. Preferirei dire che e' vissuta in maniera giusta e meritocratica. Ci sono i musicisti che fanno i musicisti e i manager che fanno solo i manager. Figo dirai tu no?. E' il giusto verso delle cose. La RFB esiste ancora ma non ha fatto altro che sguinzagliare i FAK o meglio dire come un piccione fa con i propri piccoli appena svezzati.

Noi FAK vogliamo solo suonare il resto fatelo voi Managers che state leggendo?

EP Review Formato Audio Komprensivo, FAK 2010.

The Lowdown:

Part of the Italian underground scene since 2008, Formato Audio Komprensivo relocated to London in 2010, to showcase their music to a wider audience, playing live across various venues including Islington’s Zenith Bar, and The Fiddler’s Elbow in Westminster. This year sees the release their first four-track EP, ‘FAK 2010,’

Lead by singer and guitarist Saro St, FAK are an impressive blend of rock and grunge, reminiscent of Stone Temple Pilots and Alice in Chains, but with a pleasing fresh twist thanks to the frontman’s vocals, and the considerable abilities of fellow guitarist Steve, bassist Lucio Ih and drummer Tonio.

Loud these boys may be, but when it sounds like this, you won’t mind too much. If you want meek and mild, submerge yourself in Radio 2, if you’re after music with genuine energy and a fair amount of potential, then read on.

The Tracks:

My Rules: That energy I was talking about? It’s right here. A great opening track that builds as the song progresses. The vocals alternate between shades of Vedder and Kiedis, but it’s the drums and guitar that really sell it. Definitely one for when the sun’s out and the windows are down. It wouldn’t sound out of place on the soundtrack for a skater film.

Fak Me: Right from the opening seconds, you can imagine this playing well live, because it begins as something akin to a classic lighters up torchsong and ends up somewhere entirely different, namely, a mosh pit. There’s a raw quality to the vocals that really comes through, and makes the song into something of a musical journey all on its own.

Poison True: Have you ever listened to a song and thought how great it’d be as the theme tune for a TV show? Well, fair reader, for me this song gets that accolade. It’s perfect for something gothic and dark – no sparkling vampires please – because that’s exactly what it sounds like. This is the musical equivalent of a hurricane and an anthem if ever I heard one.

Something New Today: Another sweeping track, which is, in many ways, something of a compliment to ‘Poison True,’ that has a rather beautiful emotional rawness to it raw quality to it thanks to the vocals and the mood of the song as a whole. A fine way to close the EP and definitely leaves you wanting more.

The Verdict:

A solid debut EP from a talented band who clearly have a lot to give. Fans of grunge and rock alike will find something here, and for those of you hankering for something different that goes against the mainstream tide then give this a listen. Your ears will thank you.

FAK ....what's the feel?

We usually worked out for the music and booking FAK in Sicily and around Italy, but that's is never enough for an unsigned band, even if It is situated in Modica. We recorded our first EP fak 2010 in Italy self-procution, and I think It's my best ever record section I have never done before( see the reviews in this blog) that's the viewpoint when I decided... that's time to show music in UK.

FAK... what's the right way?

London is always home to a lots of influential bands, labels and venues, and I though to work out booking the band starting here in London. Now after 6 months we played gigs, we'll be released on may in a compilation, and in April other show are coming. I want to stay here, debo!! My music shelves are full, useful.... here!! Encircled from new brand, new gig, new input, new lifes. Thanks London, thanks my queen.

Review:

Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock……… bloody hell, I though I was beginning to get Tinnitus then. It’s that time of the day when Independent Music News reviewer, Daniel Thomas gets off his ass to review bands/artists material. Today we have Formato Audio Komprensivo, don’t ask me to say that again. Formato Audio Komprensivo (I hate my life) are very fascinating indeed. They constantly emerge out of the underground scene to play gigs in London and, wait for it, Italy.Lets check their material out to see if they’re as culturally travelled as their music. Lets being:

Something New Today, is something old tomorrow. This track reminds of a cult vampire series, well in my view it deserves to be a cult villain parading TV screens. I’m talking about the hit TV series, True Blood. You could see the band entering a bar ready to suck the life out of the innocent crowd. The lead singer would keep to band and audience at bay with his rough vocals, it sounds like he’s smoked too many cigars. Next song:

Poison True, indeed is true. We have now entered a hurricane, hold onto your seats this shit is going down. The guitar riffs make you imagine a torturous scene, where the terror is the guitar. Enter boss! is what the guitar is trying to say throughout the song. Who is the boss? obviously the lead singer. Again the vocals transform the song into immortality and back. Next song:

My Rules, back-off I’m reviewing the track. I love this track so much, if It was my girlfriend we would have sweet love to it. The vocals reminisce a time when rock/indie bands had the freedom to creativity, instead of creating contract grabbing songs. The drummer has the freedom to progress his talent to the intrigued listener and he/she would probably love what he’s playing as soon as it hits the brain. Next song:

F.A.K Me, excuse me. Every band has to have a ballad and this is what they have established. The bassist allows us to listen to how he feels, diagnosis: he’s happy. This particular song you would hear in a club, drunk as a skunk you would stand there ready to mosh. Crowd pleaser it is, everyday song it isn’t.
